Alonso expecting close points battle

Scuderia Ferrari Fernando Alonso is expecting a close battle with some of Ferrari's rivals during Sunday's German Grand Prix, although the Spaniard admits that it could be a tough race for the Italian outfit. Alonso qualified in seventh place at a circuit where he has not been beaten since 2008. "I think, in front of us, the Williams and Mercedes are too quick for us to fight with them," he said. "But Red Bull, Force India and McLaren are beatable. Behind us, there are some threats as I think [Jenson] Button is starting 11th with a new set of tyres, so he will be very quick in the race looking at [Kevin] Magnussen in qualifying.
