Ericsson to start from pit lane

Caterham F1 Team Marcus Ericsson must start the German Grand Prix from the pit lane after a Parc Ferme violation by Caterham. Caterham 'failed to cover and seal car 9 at 18:39 [on Saturday],' according to the Stewards. The Swede, who qualified in last place, must also serve a 10 second stop and go penalty within the opening three laps of the race. 'The reason for the dual penalties is to serve as a disincentive to a breach of Parc Ferme resulting in unsupervised access and significant extra time to work on a car Qualifying and the Race', concluded the Stewards.
