Hamilton accepts blame for Button clash

Sutton Images Enlarge Lewis Hamilton accepts the blame for the collision with Jenson Button which he thinks may have cost him second at the German Grand Prix. Hamilton recovered to third at Hockenheim after starting down in 20th following a brake failure in qualifying, but a collision with Button on lap 31 at the Turn 6 hairpin meant he completed the second half of the race with left suspension damage. That led to increased degradation on his left front for the rest of the race and Hamilton realises it was a costly moment as he was unable to get close enough to Valtteri Bottas to pass on worn super-soft tyres at the end of the race.
