Rosberg surprised by lack of Red Bull challenge

Nico Rosberg says he expected Red Bull to be more competitive after Mercedes was comfortably quickest during practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheets at the end of both sessions, with Rosberg within a quarter of a second on each occasion and no other car inside 0.6s of the fastest time. Speaking after FP2, Rosberg said he had been pleasantly surprised by the pace shown by Mercedes on a tight track with few straights. “It seems that we are quick today, which is surprising because I thought the engine wouldn't count for much on this track,” Rosberg said. “I thought the others would be much closer, especially Red Bull.
