Rosberg: The gap is surprising

Nico Rosberg was surprised by Mercedes' lead over their rivals in Hungary, believing the nature of the track would negate some of their advantage. Lewis Hamilton and Rosberg romped away with the 1-2 in Friday's two 90-minute practice sessions. Hamilton ended the afternoon quickest of all, clocking a 1:24.482 on the soft tyres, while Rosberg was 0.238s down. However, worryingly for the chasing pack, Sebastian Vettel in third place was a further 0.4s off the pace. "The gap is surprising," Rosberg said.
