Magnussen to start from the pit lane in Hungary

Kevin Magnussen will start tomorrow's Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring from the pit lane after his crash in the first segment of qualifying, it has been confirmed. Light rain fell over the first corner at the start of Q3 and Magnussen didn't expect the track surface to be as slippery as it was. He braked slightly earlier but it was not enough. The Danish rookie then made considerable contact with the wall and the resulting damage – a chassis and gearbox change, McLaren has confirmed – has meant he will start from the pit lane.
