Ecclestone vows to scrap standing restarts

– Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has vowed to remove standing restarts from the 2015 regulations, just over a month after the rule was ratified at a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).The change would see standing restarts follow on from Safety Car periods, providing more than two laps have passed from the start of the race – or any given restart – and that there are over five laps left to run.But speaking in a wide-ranging interview with Auto Motor und Sport after the Hungarian Grand Prix, which featured two Safety Car phases, Ecclestone said the plan will be scrapped and the current system retained."There will be no standing start after a Safety Car...
