Ferrari engine boss departs

Ferrari have bid farewell to long-serving engine boss Luca Marmorini, who has left the team with immediate effect. Formula 1's swap from V8s to 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 eras has been a difficult one for Ferrari. The Italian marque has failed to match the product produced by Mercedes, leaving the Scuderia struggling to even reach the podium. The team's troubles have already cost Stefano Domenicali his job while now Marmorini has left the team. In the wake of his departure, Massia Binotto has been appointed chief operating office of the engine department, reporting to technical director James Allison.
