Symonds: Progress at Williams 'better than expected'

Pat Symonds says the progress made by Williams Martini Racing since his arrival at the team as technical director last July has been better than expected. The Grove-based outfit scored just five points and finished ninth in the constructors' championship last year. However, a team has enjoyed a turnaround in fortunes this season and is currently fourth in the standings with 135 points after 11 races. 'I obviously knew where I wanted to get the team to, and I still know where I want to get to – and that is a long way further ahead from where we are now,' he told the official Formula 1 website.
