Verstappen joins Red Bull Junior Team

Highly-rated Dutch teenager Max Verstappen has signed up with the Red Bull Junior Team. The 16-year-old, the son of former Formula One driver Jos, has impressed in the Formula 3 European Championship and Red Bull motorsport advisor Marko Helmut was eager to tie him down to a contract. The youngster, who was also linked with Mercedes, currently leads the F3 standings with seven race victories in his debut season. "We are very pleased to announce that Max Verstappen has accepted our invitation to join the Red Bull Junior Team," Red Bull said in a statement. "This is effective immediately and the 16-year-old will continue his Formula 3 campaign at the Nurburgring this weekend...
