Ecclestone pays up

Bernie Ecclestone's legal troubles are behind him as a German court has confirmed his $100 million payment has been received. Ecclestone offered to pay $100 million to put an end to his bribery trail in Munich. He was charged with paying a $44 million bribe to a former German banker to facilitate the sale of F1 from BayernLB to CVC. Last week, the Munich court approved the agreement and gave Ecclestone a week to make the payment. On Wednesday, the court confirmed that he had paid up on time. The F1 supremo, though, need not worry about his bank balance taking a hit as he worth an estimated £6billion.
