Alonso doubts Ricciardo will be a title threat

With victory in Belgiun marking his third win of the season, Daniel Ricciardo reckons his chances of winning the 2014 championship are on the up. The Australian is now just 35 points behind Lewis Hamilton and a further 29 behind leader Nico Rosberg, but Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso doesn't reckon the Australian will pose much of a threat. "No, I don't think so," he said when asked if Ricciardo could win it. "Obviously he's doing an amazing job and he's surprising everyone, but the Mercedes advantage... in qualifying they were two seconds clear," he told Autosport.
