'Caterham charge 300,000 euro per race'

Caterham could have another new driver at Monza next week with Spanish media claiming Roberto Merhi is in line to step into the car. The Leafield-based squad surprised everyone at Spa last time out when they replaced the experienced Kamui Kobayashi with three-time Le Mans winner Andre Lotterer. The German has admitted his drive was a one-off experience and many expected Kobayashi would be back in the cockpit of the CT05 at the Italian Grand Prix next weekend, but that may not be the case. Caterham are reportedly asking 300,000 euro per race and Spaniard Merhi, who is currently second in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, is ready to fork out the money.
