Mercedes confirms drivers free to race as disciplined Rosberg apologises for crash

Mercedes AMG Petronas Mercedes has confirmed that drivers Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton remain free to race, following their collision during the Belgian Grand Prix. Rosberg made contact with Hamilton on the second lap, giving the Brit a puncture and straining relations between the duo. Hamilton inferred after the race that Rosberg had deliberately not backed out of the move, while senior management also expressed their dissatisfaction with the German racer. But Rosberg and Hamilton met with Toto Wolff and Paddy Lowe at Mercedes's Brackley base on Friday morning to discuss the events of last weekend's race.
