Alonso recommits to Ferrari

Fernando Alonso has confirmed that he will remain at Ferrari for at least another season, despite McLaren's public interest and Scuderia's poor 2014 season. Alonso went to McLaren as the two-time reigning Drivers' Championship winner in 2007, but went back to Renault the next season after a tumultuous time as Lewis Hamilton's team-mate at the Woking outfit. He then returned to Renault for two seasons before making the switch to Ferrari after the 2009 Formula One season. Since then the Spaniard - widely regarded as the best all-round driver on the grid - has cut something of a forlorn figure as first Red Bull Racing and later Mercedes started to dominate the sport.
