Sauber: Pirelli tyre choice for Monza “very conservative”

Pirelli's tyre choice for the Italian Grand Prix has been branded “very conservative” by Sauber's head of track engineering, Giampaolo Dall'Ara. Pirelli has nominated the hardest two tyres from its range for Monza – the hard and the medium - and Dall'Ara expects a number of teams will have trouble getting them up to temperature. “Pirelli have opted for the hard and the medium compounds, which is an very conservative choice,” he confirmed. “One step softer sounded more sensible for such a circuit, and we suspect that a number of teams will struggle to get the primes into their temperature working window.” Adrian Sutil meanwhile agrees that the tyre choice will be a...
