Massa buoyed by cure for tyre issues

Felipe Massa says Williams immediately found a way of solving its tyre issues which had plagued the team during Friday practice, allowing it to be competitive in qualifying in Singapore. After both cars were well off the pace on Friday, Massa admitted that Williams was set for a tough weekend if it didn't find the cause of its tyre problems. However, having pinpointed overheating tyres, Massa said the team was quickly able to make progress in FP3 and qualifying. “Honestly, straight away after FP2 our guys were pretty sure what the problem was,” Massa said. “It was clear that our tyres were too hot, so I was two tenths slower in the first sector – which was fine – and then I was...
