McLaren has confirmed that a power box failure caused Jenson Button to retire from today's Singapore Grand Prix. The 2009 world champion had been running in seventh place, just behind Valtteri Bottas, on a two-stop strategy when he slowed with a problem. He parked his MP4-29 on the back straight, before turn 14, on lap 52 and exited the race, losing what could have been a strong points finish.
