John Surtees (GBR) Ferrari celebrates his victory on the podium. Formula One World Championship, Rd 6, German Grand, Prix, Nurburgring, 2 August 1964.John Surtees headed into the 1964 Formula One season finale in Mexico locked in a three-way fight for the title. Against the odds he emerged triumphant, becoming the first - and to date only - driver to have won world championships on both two and four wheels.
