Fernando Alonso: “Getting respect sometimes has more value”

With Fernando Alonso’s future still up in the air, the Ferrari driver insists his focus is firmly on this weekend’s United States Grand Prix, with the desire to get the best result possible for himself and the team. Alonso acknowledged that the team are still in a sombre mood as they continue to monitor Jules Bianchi’s condition in Japan following his serious accident at Suzuka, but will race on in Austin with the intention of giving his maximum all weekend long, with the team in a close battle with Williams for third place in the World Constructors’ Championship. “I know more or less what I’m doing next year,” said Alonso. “But for now my priority is the work on the track....
