FIA alter qualifying format for Abu Dhabi GP

+ The FIA has amended the Formula 1 qualifying format ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Owing to the return of Caterham, which will see the grid increase to 20 cars, the qualifying format used in the United States and Brazil has been changed so that five cars are eliminated in both Q1 and Q2. “Accordingly, under the authority to the Stewards in Article 11.9 of the International Sporting Code, and having regard to the principles established in the Formula One Sporting Regulations Article 33.1, consistent with the decision at the 2014 United States Grand Prix, the Stewards decide that the slowest 5 cars in Q1 will be prohibited from taking any further part in the session, and the slowest 5...
