Horner calls for ‘simplified' 2016 engines

+ Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has called for Formula 1 to introduce simplified engines ahead of the 2016 season in an effort to drive down mounting costs. The introduction of the V6 turbo power units has caused major controversy in 2014, with Mercedes – the season’s dominant team – refusing to cater to calls from rival manufacturers Ferrari and Renault to open up engine development, which is currently frozen.
