Hamilton secures 2014 world title with Abu Dhabi GP win

+ Lewis Hamilton wins the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to secure the 2014 world championship. Hamilton beat his season-long rival Nico Rosberg into the first corner on the opening lap, and took control of the race after the German developed an ERS problem which saw him drop down the field, to take his 11th win of the season and the second world title of his Formula 1 career. As the lights went out to mark the start of the final race of the 2014 season it was Hamilton that surged into an early lead, darting past the pole sitter Rosberg off the grid.
