Force India trial Hamilton's 'Info Wing' in Abu Dhabi

Force India attached a device to their car on Wednesday morning during the Abu Dhabi post-season test which its designer, Lewis Hamilton's father Anthony, hopes will help grandstand spectators to identify what position a car is in during the race. The screen, dubbed the 'Info Wing', is a small LED display on either side of the car which can display race position, a driver's initials, number of pit stops and tyre compound. There are concerns it won't be visible in sunlight and may therefore only be suited for night races, but this is an issue Hamilton is confident of working round with an improved device before its actual debut.
