Hamashima to leave Ferrari at the end of year

Ferrari announced on Wednesday that tyre chief Hirohide Hamashima will leave the team at the end of the year, as it continues to make structural changes. On Tuesday the Maranello-based outfit confirmed the departure of both engineering director Pat Fry and chief designer Nicolas Tombazis. The restructuring follows a disappointing 2014 season and the appointment of a new team principal, Maurizio Arrivabene. Hamashima joined Ferrari in 2012 and was responsible for tyre performance analysis, having previously been director of motorsport tyre development at Bridgestone during the Japanese manufacturer's time in F1.
