F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has been reappointed to the board of the company that runs the sport, it was announced this week. Ecclestone stood down earlier this year after prosecutors in Germany said they would be pressing ahead with the bribery case against the 83-year-old. Ecclestone later agreed a £60 million settlement deal, although he said he was “a bit of an idiot” for settling because “the judge more or less said I was acquitted.” CVC Capital – the sports owners – also announced that ex-Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has been reappointed as well.
