2014 was something of a breakthrough year for Force India. After years of fighting in the lower echelons of the midfield, Vijay Mallya’s squad finally appeared to find its feet and puff out its chest in the crusade against the front-runners in Formula 1. It may have finished sixth in the constructors’ championship once again, but you can argue that without Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso, McLaren and Ferrari may well have lost out to Force India.
