Nostalgia: Schumacher vs Villeneuve at Jerez
+ As the Formula 1 circus arrives at Jerez for testing ahead of another long season, Richland F1's Dan Paddock takes a look back to 1997, as the Spanish circuit made its final appearance on the F1 calendar, as host to a title deciding European Grand Prix.
Formula 1 headed to the remote Jerez circuit for the 1997 season-finale straight off the back of a controversial Japanese Grand Prix, which had seen Williams’ French-Canadian star Jacques Villeneuve disqualified, while his championship rival Michael Schumacher took a crucial win for Ferrari.
Villeneuve had come home a cautious fifth after running the race under appeal, having himself been excluded for ignoring the waved yellow...
