Former F1 racer Kovalainen joins Japanese Super GT series

+ Former Formula 1 racer Heikki Kovalainen will race in the Japanese Super GT series this season. Kovalainen, whose last F1 appearance came for Lotus at the 2013 Brazilian Grand Prix as a stand-in for Kimi Raikkonen, confirmed on Friday that he will make the move to Japan in 2015. The Finn will race a Lexus RC-F for Team SARD in the GT500 class of the Super GT series. “I replied immediately when I received the offer from SARD because I knew that Super GT is a high level, competitive and interesting race series like no other in the world,” said Kovalainen.
