Tech Analysis: Camera pod legality

Mercedes are one of a number of teams to exploit the position of the TV camera pods on the nose cone, but are they doing it fairly? The FIA are progressively clamping down on this area as William Tyson explains. By regulation, the teams must place at least five TV camera pods along the car – two on the nose, two above on top of the airbox and generally one other sits off the side of the engine cover. Because the pods are shaped as an aerofoil, they can be used for aerodynamic purposes.
