Ferrari: Three car teams not the solution

Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene believes F1 should work to encourage and nurture new teams into the sport, rather than revert to a format of eight teams entering three cars each. With Caterham and Marussia slipping into administration towards the end of the 2014 F1 season, just nine teams and 18 cars were present on the grid at the United States and Brazilian Grand Prix races, though Caterham did return for the finale with a crowd-funding assisted effort. Ahead of the 2015 F1 season, ten teams are set to line up on the grid, including Manor-Marussia, which has now formalised its plans to return to action in Melbourne.
