Formula 1 gets new Safety Car for 2015

– Formula 1 will have new Safety and Medical cars for the 2015 season, in the form of the Mercedes-AMG GT S and Mercedes-AMG C 63 S respectively.The new GT S Safety Car, which replaces the gull-wing SLS AMG GT, is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing 510hp, capable of 0-60mph in 3.8s and a top speed of 310 km/h.Bernd Mayländer will continue to drive the car, alongside co-driver Peter Tibbetts, who can monitor on track activity via two iPads and communicate with race control via radio."The gull-wing SLS AMG was my official car in Formula 1 for five years," explained Mayländer."Now I'm looking forward to the new Mercedes-AMG GT S, which I have been fortunate...
