Marciello flies flag for Italy on FP1 bow
Raffaele Marciello says he enjoyed his first taste of the Sauber C34 as he became the first Italian since 2011 to drive an on an F1 race weekend at Sepang. It has been four years since Italy featured a representative in F1 – the last being Jarno Trulli and Vitantonio Liuzzi – and though 2015 still doesn't have a full-time racer from the nation, Marciello's acquisition by Sauber as its test driver has put him in line for FP1 outings. Backed by Ferrari's junior development programme, the FP1 outing marked Marciello's first time in the car and around the Sepang circuit, but he was still a respectable 13th fastest, six tenths slower than Marcus Ericsson. “I am really happy, I think I did...
