McLaren optimistic despite woeful practice showings

Despite returning their full complement of World Drivers Championship winners to the track, McLaren-Honda's woes continued in the first day of practice at Sepang, as the Woking outfit remained mired at the bottom of the time sheets. Indeed, only Romain Grosjean's Lotus, which suffered an engine failure, and the two Manor cars, both running a 2014 Ferrari power unit, were lower at the end of Friday running; however, Jenson Button remains positive that McLaren can salvage something out of the weekend.
