Nostalgia: Senna scores debut win at rain-soaked Portuguese GP

+ April 21 2015 marks 30 years since Ayrton Senna took his maiden win in Formula 1, in a rain-soaked Portuguese Grand Prix. The Brazilian, who would go on to win 41 times on route to three world titles, secured the very first of those victories at Estoril, Portugal in 1985. Senna, driving in just his second race for Lotus after a year with Toleman, beat future rival Alain Prost to the first of 65 pole positions on the Saturday by four tenths of a second. Keke Rosberg was third for Williams, and was joined on the second row by Elio de Angelis in third, 1.1s shy of his Lous team-mate and pole sitter Senna.
