Young guns set for Barcelona Formula 1 test
A host of young single seater drivers will take part in this week’s Formula 1 test at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya. Just five full-time drivers will be in action during the two-day in season test with teams choosing to offer opportunities to rising stars in the single seater ranks. Mercedes will split its running between Spanish GP winner Nico Rosberg and test driver Pascal Wehrlein, having elected not to run championship leader Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo will sit out the test with the struggling Milton Keynes squad set to hand GP2 driver Pierre Gasly a run in the RB11 on Wednesday.
