Pirelli plans to bid for tyre supply renewal

– Pirelli says it plans to bid to extend its stay as Formula 1's tyre supplier when its current deal expires at the end of next year, providing the conditions are suitable.Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, has invited interested tyre companies to apply for the deal, which will run through the 2017, 2018 and 2019 campaigns.Applications must be submitted by June 17, with the candidates which meet the FIA's requirements being forwarded for a final evaluation process.Speaking at the Monaco Grand Prix, Pirelli Chairman and CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera confirmed that the Italian company currently intends to apply."We intend to stay if the regulations are ones that we agree...
