Mercedes boss apologises to Hamilton for gaffe

Mercedes head of motorsport Toto Wolff went up to Lewis Hamilton after the Monaco Grand Prix to say sorry after a strategic error cost the British driver a fourth win of the season. The incident happened late in Sunday's race, after a crash involving teenage driver Max Verstappen led to a safety car being deployed. Hamilton was coasting to victory but his team called him in to the pits to change to softer tyres. When he came out, Hamilton suddenly found himself behind Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg, who won the race.
