No action following de Villota crash

No further action is to be taken in respect of the 2012 accident which left Maria de Villota seriously injured. The 2012 accident saw the Spanish test driver lose an eye after hitting the tailgate of a stationary service vehicle during a test at Duxford Aerodrome in July 2012. The freak accident necessitated two further operations at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and plastic surgery in Madrid. Sadly, the 33-year-old was found dead in a Seville hotel just a year later. Though she died of natural causes, it is widely felt her death was linked to the injuries sustained in the crash.
