Lotus: Grosjean did not brake test Verstappen

Lotus trackside operations director Alan Permane insists Romain Grosjean did not brake test Max Verstappen during the Monaco Grand Prix. The Dutch rookie was chasing down Grosjean for 10th in the closing stages of Sunday’s race when he hit the right-rear of the Frenchman’s Lotus under braking for Ste Devote, spearing his Toro Rosso into the barriers. Verstappen accused Grosjean post-race of brake testing him into Turn 1, but Permane revealed that data showed the Lotus driver had braked five metres later than on his previous lap. “Romain Grosjean didn’t brake test Max Verstappen,” Permane tweeted. “He braked five metres later than previous lap.
