Briatore: Alonso better off at McLaren than Ferrari

Flavio Briatore says Fernando Alonso is better off at McLaren than Ferrari, despite the Spaniard’s difficult start to the 2015 season. Alonso re-joined McLaren after a five-year stint with Ferrari, but has failed to score points since his return, while the Maranello-based squad has had one car on the podium at every round so far this year. Despite the lack of results, Briatore is adamant Alonso made the right move, even if no team can currently match the reigning champions Mercedes. “I believe at one point in Ferrari it was over, from both sides,” Briatore told Reuters. “I believe it was a good change.
