Aston F1 return linked to Red Bull with Mercedes engines ­– report

Sportscar manufacturer Aston Martin has been linked with a Formula 1 return as part of a tie-up with Red Bull Racing, according to a report in UK industry publication Autocar. With Red Bull considering its future engine options, the Autocar story suggests Aston Martin chiefs are in talks with its four-time F1 world champion team about a deal that could facilitate a customer supply deal of Mercedes engines. The report suggests that Red Bull would carry logos in a similar fashion to Renault’s sister marque Nissan’s Infiniti brand – which is currently on the sidepods and rear wing of the Renault-powered Red Bull cars.
