Hamilton breaks 45-year-old F1 record

After the British GP victory, Lewis Hamilton has set new record for consecutive F1 races led by racking up number 18 today. That beats Sir Jackie Stewart's long-standing record, the Scot having managed 17 in succession while driving for Matra and Tyrrell in 1969-70. Home hero Lewis Hamilton, who started the race in pole position ended up in third place by the end of the second lap. Williams duo Filipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas took control the race from championship leader but Hamilton soon overtook halfway in to the race following a Williams mix up in the pit lane allowed the Stevenage born racer to overtake.’ Hamilton then cruised to victory with no pressure as teammate Rosberg was...
