Monza on course to retain Italian GP

Monza looks set to continue hosting the Italian Grand Prix after circuit owners secured a tax-free investment from the government. With funds running low, the future of the Autodromo Nationale di Monza looked insecure at best, with the Italian Grand Prix rumoured to be switching venues to Imola, which has hosted the San Marino Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix at various points in Formula One history. However, new government negotiations have resulted in the region of Lombardy, where Monza is situated, being allowed to invest in the circuit once again. The governor of Lombardy, Roberto Maroni, is hopeful of finalising a deal to secure the immediate future of the Italian Grand Prix....
