August is the time that most of the F1 community takes a break and hile there is no formal obligation to shut a team for any length of time over the summer, a gentleman’s agreement between teams has led to a mutual two week ‘shutdown’ between over the four weeks. Teams therefore close their doors for two consecutive weeks at their convenience. Some teams choose the first two weeks, others the middle, but the concept is always the same: allow everyone a well-deserved holiday.
