WATCH: Mercedes 'halo' test

With closed cockpits once again the subject of debate, it has been revealed that Mercedes have been experimenting with a 'halo' concept. Our animation shows how the design would fit onto the car, potentially protecting the drivers head from larger items and supported by a central pillar.  However, F1 Show guests Karun Chandhok and Dean Stoneman are unsure if the concept will be effective and the impact it will have on viability.
