Lewis Hamilton ended the third and final practice session of the Italian Grand Prix weekend at the top of the timesheets for Mercedes. Overnight rain meant there was little running in the early stages of FP3, with damp track conditions before a dry line started to appear as the sun emerged. Hamilton only completed exploratory laps in the first part of practice three, before going for some quick times. He failed to get a particularly clean lap together on the medium tyre and was fifth before switching to softs.
