Marcus Ericsson has been handed a three-place grid penalty by the stewards for impeding Nico Hulkenberg in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix. The Sauber racer was preparing for a run early in Q1 when he blocked Hulkenberg at Parabolica, while the Force India driver was on a quick lap. Ericsson went on to qualify 10th at the Monza circuit, but was handed a penalty by the FIA and will drop three positions. He also picked up two penalty points, meaning he now has seven overall.
