Maldonado hoping for great things as Renault deal nears

Pastor Maldonado is optimistic the impending deal that will see Lotus evolve into a full factory Renault F1 effort next season will yield 'great things' for the Enstone team. With Renault confirming it has signed a 'letter of intent' to purchase the Lotus F1 team – the first formal indication of its intentions with the outfit -, the French firm is set to conclude the deal in the coming weeks. Despite the probable change of ownership, Lotus in its current guise has already announced one driver for the 2016 season with the retention of Maldonado for a third year.
