F1 votes against budget engine plan

– Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, has confirmed that its proposal to find an alternative power unit supplier for the 2017 campaign has been rejected following the latest meeting of the F1 Commission.Ferrari's recent decision to veto a proposed cost cap on customer engine supplies led the FIA to seek an alternative, cheaper supplier to help the sport's smaller teams cope with the demands.On Wednesday, the FIA revealed that there were "four credible expressions of interest" for the role, but these plans have been scrapped after the latest Strategy Group and F1 Commission meetings.Manufacturers have now vowed to "address several key areas" regarding the power...
